We are a rapidly growing credit card fintech. To grow safely, our fraud policies and security features must constantly evolve to stay a few steps ahead of fraudsters. We are looking for a strong analyst who can find patterns in data and turn them into effective fraud prevention rules, models, and policies.
Define fraud-relevant metrics and set up monitoring and alerting processes.
Identify, clean, and organize data relevant for fraud detection.
Analyze data to find fraud patterns and build rules and/or ML models to help identify high-risk events.
Collaborate with the data science team on building effective fraud ML models.
Define comprehensive fraud detection policies covering the entire customer lifecycle and optimizing for a balance between fraud losses, customer experience friction, ops costs, and regulatory risks.
Evaluate the added value of new fraud-relevant data sources and technology.
Partner with engineering and ops teams to implement and execute fraud policies.
Collaborate with the data science team in preparing models.
Initiate randomized experiments to measure the effectiveness of various fraud prevention measures.
Effectively communicate findings, proposed modifications, or policies to relevant stakeholders, and defend your conclusions when necessary.
Proven experience in creating automated model-based fraud prevention policies within a heavily data-driven financial institution.
Comprehensive understanding of the fraud risks associated with a revolving credit product and the effective methods and technologies to tackle them.
Proficiency in extracting data from a database (SQL, Scala, or other DB language) and analyzing it across multiple metrics and dimensions, visualizing trends, applying statistical methodologies like finding correlations, clustering, building basic models, etc., to pinpoint the primary drivers of a specific behavior (preferably in Python).
A proactive mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with machine learning and data science teams to devise prompt solutions to issues, often through "workarounds," to enhance our process swiftly rather than awaiting extensive IT developments.
Enthusiasm for establishing a new bank and a readiness to do whatever is necessary and work under pressure. Given our limited resources and the likelihood of facing numerous urgent unforeseen challenges, the ability to rely on every team member is critical.
